In collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Vision 2023 report was released in the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean with
the attendance of Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, Dr Ahmed Al-Mandhari, WHO Regional Director, and ministers of health and representatives of the Members of the Regional Committee.
The report reflects on the collective efforts to realize the 4 priorities to expand access to universal health coverage; address the daunting challenges of emergencies; promote the health and wellbeing of people in every country and territory of the Region; and change the way that WHO itself operates.
“I am pleased to say that the report includes many examples of progress. Despite many challenges, we were able to seize opportunities to improve health and well-being across the Region, making use of important policy instruments and initiatives introduced by the Regional Committee with high-level support from leaders in the Region,” said WHO Regional Director Dr Ahmed Al-Mandhari.
